Critical Recommendation 10 Clarification needs to be made regarding CR10 and its reference in the report. The exam supervisors are those listed in IQA website. http://iqa.git.edu.mt/exam-procedures.htm. Students never proctor exams unless they are studying a higher MQF level course. Therefore a student in level six can only supervisor exams lower than his or her’s. Recommendation 11 GIT welcomes the recommendation R11. However, to translate so many courses into Maltese will make it impossible at this time. Our concern is that the panel stated that it is “must!” However, this is not a conditional recommendation. Could it be they meant to say “is recommended?” Furthermore: the standards do not indicate that courses has to be translated into Maltese. Further and higher education students are experted to read English since it is Maltese second national language. However, in certain cases we do translate the MCQ into Maltese for example for a dyslexic students. Recommendation 12 GIT welcomes R12. GU’s online library now has many tutorial videos for remediation in students’ English language and writing skills. These are found here. GU is already developing faculty training materials in the area of ESL education, including guidelines for tutoring students and grading student assignments for students who use English as a “second language.” This material will be provided to all faculty and will also serve as content for CPD workshops. GU is now using Turnitin and preparing training tools for faculty and students. Turnitin provides a powerful tool to students to help them with avoiding plagiarism and improve English grammar and writing skills. Recommendation 13 Concerning R13 we believe that this is already happening, at least to some extent. The fact that assignment grading rubrics are provided by GU and the assignment grades are forwarded to and recorded by GU means that GU is involved in and aware of the grading practices and standards. HLC is requiring that GU develop faculty evaluation programs for both undergraduate and graduate faculty. The graduate faculty program has already been created and approved by the AAC and BOA and will be launched April 1, 2020. The UG program is still being developed. Recommendation 14 This recommendation is beyond the scope of a theological school training and discipling leaders and laity for Evangelical and Pentecostal churches. The pastoral element is a high-quality element in quality assurance especially in a school of this kind. The philosophy of our teacher- learner experience is based on pastoral rapport in the sense of what a disciple means. However, course content at the level 6 and above does present multiple views on religious subjects, training students to be familiar with both compatible and opposing beliefs and opinions. This is integral to critical thinking. GIT is a theological school, which by its very nature maintains a prescribed and expressed worldview related to religion, philosophy, and personal spirituality.
